Frequently Asked Questions
-
Simply reach out through our website, give us a call, or send us an email. We'll answer any questions you have, help match you with the therapist who best fits your needs, and get your first appointment scheduled.
-
Our private-pay sessions start at $135, and we also offer a sliding scale to help make therapy more accessible whenever possible.
If you're using insurance, your out-of-pocket cost will depend on your specific plan. We recommend calling the member services number on the back of your insurance card to ask about your copay or coinsurance for outpatient behavioral health services and whether you have a deductible that must be met before your benefits apply.
-
Yes. We offer a limited number of sliding scale appointments based on financial need and availability. A sliding scale is a reduced session fee designed to make therapy more accessible for individuals and families who may not be able to afford our standard private-pay rate.
Because each clinician manages their own caseload, sliding scale availability varies by therapist. If you're interested, we encourage you to discuss availability directly with the clinician you'd like to work with.
-
Most therapy sessions are 50–60 minutes long. Longer or shorter sessions may be available when clinically appropriate or for certain types of appointments.
-
There's no one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients reach their goals in just a few months, while others choose to stay in therapy longer for ongoing support and personal growth. We'll regularly check in on your progress (at least every 90 days) and adjust your treatment to fit your needs.
-
You don't have to come in with a plan. Our clinicians take a more directive approach and will help guide each session with thoughtful questions, evidence-based interventions, and gentle direction. You're never expected to figure it all out on your own.
-
Most clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and establish a strong therapeutic foundation. As you make progress, we'll work together to determine whether meeting less frequently is the best fit for your goals and needs.
-
The right therapist is someone you feel safe with, understood by, and comfortable being yourself around. We thoughtfully match clients with clinicians based on their needs, goals, and preferences, and if it doesn't feel like the right fit, we're always happy to help you find a better one.
-
Our clinicians are trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, and each therapist has their own areas of specialization. You can learn more about the modalities and services offered by each clinician by visiting our Services page and selecting your state.
-
Yes. What you share in therapy is confidential, with a few exceptions required by law, such as suspected abuse or neglect, a court order, or if there is an imminent risk of serious harm to yourself or someone else. It's important to know that having suicidal thoughts (suicidal ideation) alone does not automatically break confidentiality. If those thoughts progress to suicidal intent with an imminent risk of acting on them, your therapist may need to take steps to help keep you safe. Your therapist will review confidentiality and its limits with you during your first session.
-
In most cases, parents or guardians do not attend regular therapy sessions. However, we believe caregiver involvement is an important part of treatment, so we'll schedule periodic parent meetings to gather collateral information, discuss treatment goals, review progress, and collaborate on how to best support your child outside of therapy.
-
